Personal Development — The Best Is Yet To Come
Forever Young Blog provides tips and personal improvement information for anyone who wants to be more happy, healthy and successful. The information here applies to everyone — including those of us over 50 who think our best years and most significant accomplishments are still ahead.
The Main Reason People Don’t Live Their Dreams
Here’s the first principle you need to know . . .
The main reason most people don’t achieve their dreams – at any age – is that they give up too soon and too easily.
Let me give you an example.
My wife is a personal trainer and I’m a gym regular. We’ve observed for years that gyms fill up in January but are back to normal by sometime in February.
Many well-intentioned new members, fortified by a New Year’s Resolution to “get in shape” or “lose some weight,” begin a gym membership in earnest at the beginning of the year . . . but virtually all of them are gone within a month or two.
When they don’t get instant results, they quit.
How realistic is that? It took years to become de-conditioned and to add the extra weight, but they give up if they can’t erase all of the damage in the blink of an eye.
A relatively few of the new members “get it” and succeed. Simply by showing up regularly, putting in the time.
If you have a good plan and stick with it, you will succeed by making small, regular progress on your plan. Break your large goals into parts and “Inch by inch, it’s a cinch!”
Think of it this way. If you can improve by only 1% a day, at the end of one year you will be more than 3 ½ times better than you were at the beginning of the year.
And persistence is the key not only in the fitness world but also in the business world, the interpersonal world and every other world you inhabit.
Do you get it? Regular, incremental progress toward your goals – including the goal of staying “forever young” – will lead to gigantic achievements – a tsunami of success — over time.
Don’t be part of the majority who give up too soon and fail to achieve their dreams. I want you to be the exceptional “forever young” person who persists and lives her dreams.
Let’s Get Started!
Time to get more specific.

5. Help Others
There’s also a collection of “Other Stuff” that I hope will help you.
My Commitment To You
I’m not an expert. I’m no guru. I’m just a messenger. What I know comes from the many experts I have studied.
Myself, I’m a work in progress. I try every day to apply these principles in my own life.
As readers of this blog, I promise to give you inspiration and specific tools for staying forever young and achieving, creating and contributing for your entire life.
Many of the posts here will be solid content — explanations of the principles I am teaching. Others will be about people who are living those principles since there’s nothing better than an inspirational story. Still other posts will present the latest research on the subjects we’re covering.
While never deviating from my mission to give you the information you need, I’ll try to keep this blog light and fun. After all, if we can’t have fun on our journey through life, what’s the point?
