(One of the things that I do to have fun and stay positive is make photographs. From time to time, I’ll share photos I’ve taken or information about photography for those who share my interest.)
I made this photo of a Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly in an exotic location, my yard.
Here’s a tip: plant Butterfly Bush. They attract all kinds of butterflies and have attractive purple flowers that add a splash of color to your butterfly photos.
I edited the photo on my iPad, using the Photogene app. This effect is called “Posterize.”
Of course, the background was blurred in the original because I selected a short depth of field. However the Posterize effect makes the background even softer and really makes the subject of the photo, the butterfly, pop.
